Print in Color

Visual Assist makes output printed in color more meaningful by incorporating its enhanced syntax coloring in the print process. The functionality provided by Visual Assist varies with version of the IDE.

Visual Studio 2015 and newer

Visual Studio prints in color. Visual Assist incorporates enhanced syntax coloring. 

Visual Studio 2013

Visual Studio prints in color when Productivity Power Tools 2013 is installed. Visual Assist incorporates enhanced syntax coloring. 

Visual Studio 2012

Visual Studio prints in color when Productivity Power Tools 2012 is installed. Visual Assist incorporates enhanced syntax coloring. 

Visual Studio 2010

Visual Studio does not print in color, and Visual Assist does not provide the functionality.

Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2002

Visual Studio prints in color using the default colors of the IDE. Visual Assist does not improve the print process.

Visual C++ 6.0

Visual C++ 6.0 does not print in color. Visual Assist provides the functionality.

Option

Enable printing in color in the options dialog for Visual Assist.

Limited Context

Visual Assist parses the printed selection apart from its original source. Context for symbols in is determined only from the printed selection. If you print a small segment of code, it is possible Visual Assist cannot determine the context of all symbols and hence, not color them properly.
